Brad and Jordan & Michelle took the day off so we could celebrate Pioneer Day. We thought we might go to the Days of 47 parade in downtown SLC but decided that a parade is a parade. We watched it on TV and felt pretty good about our decision.
There was a celebration right down the street at Pioneer Park in downtown Provo so we stopped by for the festivities.
The pictures are out of order and I don't know why. After the park we decided to go on a hike in Provo Canyon at Sundance. Stewart Falls.
The boys got crazy catching air.....
and so did the girls!
Michelle loved catching little frogs when she was little but decided not to get one as it is not the same at catching one yourself and besides, what do you do with a little frog?
In Alberta we call them natives and in Utah they call them indians.
Just an observation, that's all. They had a neat little museum in the park and I found pictures of very distant relatives on my side and on Mark's side.
Lafayette Holbrook ( a past mayor of Provo), Nathaniel Leavitt and his wife, Mary Horrocks Leavitt.
Michelle was the source of fun for Brad and Jordan. They had the best time pushing her on this tree swing as she was squealing to get off.
She quickly recovered.
Brad knew a short cut to Stewart Falls so the hike was just right, especially since we got a late start and it was already pretty hot.
Another fun day with the big kids minus Clark. and Neal and Mark and Laurel........
